In the 7th inning Minnesota went on top for good plating 3 runs on 4 base hits. Maicer Izturis got things going when he doubled. Derek Jeter next to the plate and he laced a base-knock. Jeter got a good lead and stole second. Ellis came up and he laced a single. Minnesota continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Joe Mauer extended the rally and ripped a one-base hit. One out later, Kendry Morales followed, but he was set down on strikes. Minnesota ended up with 15 hits for the game while Oakland had 5. The win went to Jesse Crain(3-1) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Brett Cecil(5-9) was the loser. He gave up 2 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings. Olivo really lit it up for Colorado. The Washington fans let him have it for what he did to their boys. He doubled in the 2nd inning, lined a base-hit in the 4th inning, cracked a solo homerun in the 6th inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 8th inning and ripped a single knocking in a run in the 9th inning. Colorado bats were hot in the 7th inning when they had 4 runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 6 hits. Offensively, Colorado was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings. Garland(5-7) allowed 4 runs on the game. Bruce Chen(1-9) absorbed the loss. He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. Yardley started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first scoring 2 runners on 4 hits. Yardley rapped out 12 hits for the night. The victory went to Verlander(11-5) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Joel Pineiro(8-7) was charged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. Kris Medlen(3-0) was dominant in relief. He allowed only 1 hit and no walks in 3 innings lowering his ERA from 5.14 to 4.85. Cincinnati proved to be no trouble in the 9th. Felipe Paulino(3-3) suffered the loss in relief. Wth the win Atlanta now has a record of 37-43. Dusty Baker was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.' Crawford provided the offensive punch. He banged out a single plating a run in the 3rd inning, doubled with all three baserunners touching home in the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning, doubled in the 8th inning and slapped a one-base hit which was good for two runs in the 9th inning. Cherry Hill managed 13 hits in their victory. Greinke(6-8) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Matt Garza(5-8) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 6 hits and 5 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. 'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Crawford said. 'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
