Philadelphia had 15 hits for the game and Oakland had 4. The win went to Ryan Madson(4-1) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Jake Westbrook(3-14) was the losing pitcher. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. CHERRY HILL AT WASHINGTON Maulers......... 5 1 1 2 2 0 2 2 0 - 15 21 0 Alouettes....... 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 1 - 3 8 0 Win:Sabathia(9-6) Loss:Buehrle(5-10) Homeruns- N.Swisher(13th), M.Teixeira-3(16th), A.Ramirez(8th), J.Varitek-2(7th) C.C. Sabathia racked up an impressive total of 12 strikeouts and Mark Teixeira ripped 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI at Nationals Park as the Cherry Hill Maulers embarrassed the ice-cold Washington Alouettes by the lopsided score of 15 to 3. Teixeira really lit it up for Cherry Hill. The Washington fans let him have it for what he did to their boys. He clubbed a three-run home run in the 1st inning, lashed a single in the 2nd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th inning and smacked a one-base hit in the 9th inning. Cherry Hill lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning with 5 runs on 6 hits. The Cherry Hill offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings. The winning pitcher was Sabathia(9-6) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Mark Buehrle(5-10) was charged with the loss. 'I had my good stuff tonight.' Sabathia said. 'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'
