The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Yardley won it in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Matt Wieters smashed a solo-shot out of the park. Michael Cuddyer was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. The game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning. Boone Logan(2-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Neftali Feliz recorded his 16th save. Mariano Rivera(2-4) was given the loss in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 4 hits in 1 and 1/3 innings. Wth the win Yardley now has a record of 56-54. With the loss, the Toronto ballclub's record is 59-51. The difference in the game was the offensive outburst by Colorado in the bottom of the 9th inning when they exploded for 7 runs on 4 hits. The big moment was provided by Soriano who electrified Coors Field when he hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of his teammates. Colorado totaled 10 hits on the night. Francisco Rodriguez(5-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Brian Wilson(2-3) was the loser in relief. Rodriguez and Soriano were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As Jim Tracy noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's attitude.' The Cincinnati Blue Bombers halted a 6 game slide and topped the Detroit 40s by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4. Randy Wolf(2-10) pitched well enough to earn the win. He went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 walks and served up 2 'big flies'. Detroit tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. Ramon Ramirez preserved the game for Wolf, recording his his 1st. Dan Haren(10-11) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings giving up 8 hits and 1 walk. With this win, Cincinnati has a 31-80 record. They have been 3-7 lately. With this loss, Detroit has a 4-6 record of late, 61-50 overall. Wilson Betemit had a big evening at the plate. He smacked a single plating two runs in the 2nd inning, delivered a one-base hit resulting in a run in the 3rd inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 5th inning. Boston banged out 11 hits on the night. Gio Gonzalez(7-7) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Gonzalez was helped out by Andrew Bailey who recorded his 14th save. Brett Cecil(6-12) suffered the loss.

Hart had a good evening at the plate. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 1st inning, ripped a base-hit bringing in a run in the 6th inning and doubled scoring a run in the 8th inning. Wall St out-hit Washington for the game, 12 hits to 9. The victory went to Tim Hudson(16-6) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. Bruce Chen(3-13) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 5 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. Billingsley(8-10) delivered a fine performance for Atlanta. He went 9 innings surrendering 11 hits and 2 walks. Atlanta had a total of 16 hits for the game. Max Scherzer(10-9) ended up with the loss. He was unable to control the Atlanta offense and allowed 16 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. Bumgarner(12-2) was solid in the win. He allowed only 5 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.83 to 3.58. Philadelphia rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon. John Lackey(5-15) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around by Philadelphia, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. Bumgarner was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!' Sunshine State scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. Martin Prado singled. Phillips next to the plate and he laced a base-hit. Dexter Fowler then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Ronny Paulino stepped in and he stroked a single giving Sunshine State the victory and sending the 26,410 home-town fans home happy. Sunshine State had 11 hits overall, while Cherry Hill had 7. Brandon Lyon(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 2/3 innings and allowing no runs. C.C. Sabathia(14-7) absorbed the loss. He pitched 8 innings allowing 10 hits and 2 walks.
