Lackey(6-16) simply dominated Toronto. He gave up just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Both teams ended up with 5 hits on the night. Brandon Morrow(8-7) was hit with the loss. He struck out 17 batters in 8 innings despite losing the game. 'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Lackey said. 'It's great to be back on the winning side of things.' In the 5th inning Colorado scored 3 runs. Alfonso Soriano led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk. Soriano was safe on a stolen base. Adam Dunn was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Miguel Olivo followed and he laced a base-knock. Pat Burrell stepped into the box and cracked a two-run shot. After another out, Jayson Werth got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Cincinnati proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th. Zito(8-9) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Randy Wolf(2-11) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 9 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 4 walks. YARDLEY AT WASHINGTON Oaks............ 1 1 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 4 11 0 Alouettes....... 0 3 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 2 - 6 10 0 Win:Coleman(2-0) Loss:Logan(2-3) Homeruns- C.Pennington(4th), V.Guerrero(25th), W.Venable(19th), J.Gomes(17th), L.Overbay(16th) Jonny Gomes went yard and had 2 RBI at Nationals Park where the Washington Alouettes beat the Yardley Oaks in 12 innings 6 to 4. The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Finally, Washington prevailed in the 12th inning. After two outs Ty Wigginton got things rolling when he was hit by a pitch. Gomes followed next and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run making Washington victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Washington had a total of 10 hits for the game. Casey Coleman(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 4 and 1/3 innings. Boone Logan(2-3) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning giving up 1 hit and no walks. MINNESOTA AT WALL ST Snow Birds...... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 8 - 8 15 0 Millionaires.... 3 0 1 0 1 6 0 2 - 13 19 1 Win:Hudson(17-7) Loss:Scherzer(10-11) Carlos Ruiz had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Wrigley Field as the Wall St Millionaires beat the Minnesota Snow Birds by the count of 13 to 8. Wall St set the tone of the game in the first inning when they came up with 3 runs on 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Ryan Zimmerman who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled with all three runners coming home. Minnesota threatened in the 9th but Wall St was able to put down the rally. Tim Hudson(17-7) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Max Scherzer(10-11) was the loser. He was knocked around by Wall St, allowing 13 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings. Ron Gardenhire was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks me off!'

Oakland promptly took the lead in their half of the first as they scored 4 runs on 3 base hits. That early run support was enough for Jake Westbrook(5-17) and Oakland. Sunshine State had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Bobby Jenks got the save, his 10th. Brett Myers(10-8) absorbed the loss. 'We really needed this win' said Bob Geren. 'That first drink of water at the end of a drought sure does taste good!' The Detroit fans didn't appreciate the big day Marcus Thames had. He laced a base-hit scoring a run in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 7th inning. Boston managed 13 hits in their victory. The winning pitcher was Gio Gonzalez(9-7) who allowed 3 runs in 8 innings. Andrew Bailey recorded his 16th save. Dan Haren(11-12) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the Boston offense and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. Cherry Hill had the winning rally in the 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Mike Napoli who quieted the crowd when he belted a three-run homer. Cherry Hill had 8 hits for the night while Sea Isle had 5. Jon Rauch(2-1) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Joakim Soria was credited with his 32nd save. Cole Hamels(9-10) was the loser. John Russell was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure Ozzie Guillen will be glad to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
