Longoria had a big day against Sea Isle. He doubled which brought home a run in the 4th inning and belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning. Toronto managed 14 hits in their victory. The win was credited to Doug Fister(8-9) who went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 runs. The loss was charged to Mat Latos(13-10). Toronto knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 8 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings. Hernandez(14-10) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Colorado offense. He surrendered only 4 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 2nd inning with no runs scored after that point. Jon Garland(11-11) was the loser. Hernandez was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.' Narveson(10-10) dominated Cincinnati hitters. He gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.85 to 4.63. Oakland rapped out 9 hits for the night. Jamie Moyer(1-2) took the loss. Bob Geren was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.' Carpenter(9-10) had a strong outing. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 5.00 to 4.79. Wall St finished with 11 hits in the victory. Jonathon Niese(7-14) was tagged with the loss. He was knocked around by Wall St, allowing 10 hits and 7 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

The game was won by Minnesota with a run in the 9th inning. Nelson Cruz drew a walk. Brennan Boesch stepped into the batter's box and he reached on an error. Torii Hunter then hit a sacrifice fly. Kendry Morales followed and he was hit by a pitch. After another out, Maicer Izturis came to bat and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Derek Jeter was the next batter, but he struck out. Minnesota won despite being out-hit by Boston 9 hits to 5. Brian Fuentes(3-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. David Aardsma earned the save, his 12th. Craig Breslow(5-8) ended up with the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 and 1/3 innings of work. Buchholz(14-2) earned his pay with a solid performance for Cherry Hill. He allowed 1 hit and 6 walks in 7 innings. The right-handed Buchholz lost his chance for a no-hitter when Martin Prado singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Sunshine State had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Buchholz got help from Joakim Soria who was credited with his 40th save. Jonathan Sanchez(15-7) absorbed the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 8 innings of work.
