Arroyo earned his pay with a solid performance for Atlanta. He went 6 and 2/3 innings and surrended up 6 hits and 2 walks. Both teams ended up with 6 hits on the afternoon. Arroyo got help from Tyler Clippard who earned his 2nd save. Atlanta continued their winnings ways improving their record to 68-68. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With the loss, Baltimore has a record of 3-7 lately, 31-106, worst in the division overall. Kershaw(18-6) gave Sea Isle a solid outing. He allowed just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. Sea Isle banged out 12 hits on the afternoon. Brett Anderson(1-3) was the losing pitcher. Kershaw was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.' Weeks was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He cracked a solo homerun in the 4th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Colorado had 9 hits for the night. The victory went to Wainwright(17-7) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The losing pitcher was David Price(8-10). He allowed 3 homeruns in 6 and 1/3 innings of work. Wainwright didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had 11 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?' Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Cincinnati won the game in the 13th inning. The big moment was provided by Branyan who silenced McAfee Coliseum as he blasted a Grand Slam homerun. Cincinnati totaled 11 hits on the night. The victory was credited to Tom Gorzelanny(3-6) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Guillermo Mota(2-4) took the loss in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

The game was won by Wall St with a run in the 9th inning. Andrew McCutchen lined a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Castro came to bat and ripped a single. Castro was safe on a stolen base. One out later, Scott Podsednik stepped up to the plate and he was walked intentionally to load the bases. Prince Fielder stepped into the box and drew a walk. Albert Pujols was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Wall St finished with 8 hits in the victory. Cain(14-8) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. James McDonald(1-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. Moises Alou was obviously impressed with the pitching of Cain, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there this afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.' Lee(16-5) was very good in the win. He didn't allow much, just 8 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Minnesota had 17 hits for the afternoon. The loss was charged to Gio Gonzalez(10-9). He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 9 hits and 1 walk. 'He was really impressive today,' Gonzalez said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.' The Detroit fans didn't appreciate the big day Rolen had. He smacked a three-run homer in the 3rd inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 5th inning, stroked a base-hit in the 7th inning and stroked a one-base hit in the 9th inning. For the game Philadelphia out-hit Detroit 12 to 5. Tommy Hanson(15-6) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Dan Haren(11-14) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Cherry Hill had 5 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning when they came up with 3 base hits. The highlight belonged to Alexei Ramirez who made the crowd happy when he doubled which was good for two runs. Both teams totaled 8 hits on the night. Shaun Marcum(11-2) got the win allowing 5 runs in 8 innings. Joakim Soria earned his 41st save. Nick Masset(5-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. Cherry Hill remained hot, improving their record to a division leading 92-44. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. With the loss, the Sunshine State ballclub's record is 89-48.
