Minnesota took the lead for keeps in the 6th inning scoring 2 runners on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Torii Hunter who silenced the crowd when he popped a two-run clout over the fence. The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning. Carmona(13-12) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Clayton Richard(3-19) was hit with the loss. Minnesota now has a record of 73-64. With the loss, Baltimore has a record of 3-7 lately, 31-107, worst in the division overall. Pujols enjoyed a great evening at the plate. He laced a one-base hit in the 1st inning, belted a three-run homer in the 3rd inning, laced a base-hit in the 5th inning and blasted a solo shot in the 8th inning. Wall St had 11 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 7. Dallas Braden(18-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and allowing 2 runs. Braden got help from Luke Gregerson who was credited with his 9th save. Randy Wells(6-16) was the loser. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 7 and 2/3 innings of work. Wall St continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 7 games and counting. 'We've really come alive lately,' Mike Quade said. 'We won some tough games and I feel real good about this ballclub right now, and hopefully we'll continue the roll we're on.' Sanchez was unconscious all evening. The Atlanta fans hated to see him approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He ripped a solo home run in the 2nd inning, delivered a base-hit bringing in a run in the 6th inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 7th inning. Sea Isle dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings. The win was credited to Mike Pelfrey(11-9) who went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs. John Axford gained credit for his 3rd save. Anibal Sanchez(13-10) took the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 innings of work. 'I just got in the box, looked for a pitch and swung,' Sanchez said. Jimenez(17-6) gave Sunshine State a solid outing. He surrendered only 7 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Sunshine State banged out 16 hits on the afternoon. Gavin Floyd(6-18) ended up with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. Jimenez was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.' In the 6th inning Boston scored 3 runs when they came up with 3 base hits. They ended up being the winning runs. Boston totaled 11 hits on the night. The victory went to Andrew Bailey(5-4) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Jered Weaver(17-9) absorbed the loss. He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 4 walks. Both teams totaled 9 hits on the night. Roy Oswalt(20-4) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Oswalt got help from Carlos Marmol who earned his 25th save. Wandy Rodriguez(14-6) ended up with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Oakland had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs. Travis Hafner opened up the inning nicely when he drew a walk. Jason Kubel struck out, unable to help the rally. Ryan Ludwick got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Ryan Doumit followed next and he blasted a two-run home run resulting in a mighty exciting win for Oakland and the 17,372 home town fans in attendance. Neither team was able to score until the 8th inning. The win went to Kameron Loe(1-3) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Darren O'Day(3-2) took the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks in 1/3 of an inning.
