Baltimore had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 2 base hits. Mitch Maier kicked off the action when he slapped a base-hit. Adam Rosales followed and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run giving Baltimore the victory and sending the 7,708 home-town fans home happy. Baltimore and Colorado each finished the night with 5 hits. The victory went to Alex Sanabia(2-0) who went 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs. Barry Zito(10-11) absorbed the loss. He gave up only 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Buck Showalter was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on. What a sweet win!' TORONTO AT CINCINNATI Argonauts....... 0 1 1 1 2 1 2 1 0 - 9 11 0 Blue Bombers.... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 - 2 6 2 Win:Duensing(5-3) Loss:Moyer(1-4) Homeruns- B.Upton(15th), H.Matsui-2(23rd), V.Wells(32nd), C.Quentin(24th) Brian Duensing racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts and Hideki Matsui blasted 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the Toronto Argonauts defeated the pathetic Cincinnati Blue Bombers by a score of 9 to 2 at Great American Bpk. Matsui was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He delivered a solo blast in the 4th inning, clubbed a solo home run in the 6th inning and laced a single in the 8th inning. The Toronto offense man-handled the Cincinnati pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings. Duensing(5-3) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. The loss was charged to Jamie Moyer(1-4). He allowed 4 homeruns in 5 and 2/3 innings of work. Duensing was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!' SEA ISLE AT WASHINGTON Seagulls........ 0 0 0 4 0 0 1 0 0 - 5 7 1 Alouettes....... 0 0 2 0 0 0 3 0 1 - 6 15 1 Win:Coleman(3-0) Loss:Belisle(4-4) Homeruns- W.Venable(22nd), J.Varitek(15th) Will Venable had 4 hits and Casey Coleman pitched 3 strong innings as the Washington Alouettes won at Nationals Park in dramatic fashion over the Sea Isle Seagulls, the final score, 6 to 5. The game was decided in the 9th inning. Ian Stewart ripped a base-hit. Jason Varitek was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Ty Wigginton then smacked a single. Juan Rivera came up and he drew a walk to load the bases. Jonny Gomes struck out, unable to help the rally. Lyle Overbay kept things alive and stroked a single resulting in an exciting win for Washington and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Washington had 15 hits for the night while Sea Isle had 7. Coleman(3-0) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Matt Belisle(4-4) was hit with the loss in relief. Despite losing, he struckout 5 Washington batters in 2 and 1/3 innings. David Purcey(2-0) got the win with a nice relief outing. He didn't give up much, just 1 hit and no walks in 1 inning. Detroit banged out 9 hits on the night. Daniel Bard got the save, his 18th. Chad Billingsley(12-12) was given the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. The Detroit ballclub's record now stands at 79-66. With the loss, the Atlanta ballclub's record is 71-74.

Oakland came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Glaus started the attack as he blasted a solo shot. After another out, Raul Ibanez came to bat and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Oakland had a total of 9 hits for the game. Narveson(11-11) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. The losing pitcher was Brian Matusz(1-4). 'That was exciting!,' Glaus said. 'I would have paid money to watch this one.' YARDLEY AT BOSTON Oaks............ 0 1 1 0 0 4 2 0 8 - 16 20 0 Stranglers...... 5 0 3 0 0 0 0 1 0 - 9 12 1 Win:Ogando(4-3) Loss:Breslow(6-10) Homeruns- J.Bautista(48th), F.Gutierrez(5th), M.Ordonez(17th), D.Barton(10th), A.Jones(8th), A.Rios(10th) Matt Thornton had a strong outing and Magglio Ordonez had 4 hits and 6 RBI at Fenway Park as the Yardley Oaks pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Boston Stranglers by the count of 16 to 9. Yardley won the game with an offensive outburst in the 9th inning as they erupted for 8 runs on 7 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Ordonez who quieted the crowd when he rifled a three-run blast. Yardley provided plenty of action in the 6th inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning which saw them plate 8 runs on 7 hits. For the game Yardley out-hit Boston 20 to 12. Alexi Ogando(4-3) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Craig Breslow(6-10) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 2 innings of work. 'The only way this one could have been better', said Ogando, 'was if we had played it at home.' CHERRY HILL AT WALL ST Maulers......... 0 2 0 2 0 0 0 0 1 - 5 11 2 Millionaires.... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 0 5 1 Win:Halladay(20-12) Loss:Hudson(19-9) Homeruns- N.Swisher-2(22nd) Nick Swisher ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Roy Halladay delivered 9 solid innings as the Cherry Hill Maulers beat the Wall St Millionaires by a score of 5 to 0. Swisher had a big evening at the plate. He cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 2nd inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 4th inning. Cherry Hill had 11 hits for the night. For Halladay(20-12) it was his 3rd shutout this year. Tim Hudson(19-9) ended up with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. 'Halladay gave us exactly what we needed tonight.' Ozzie Guillen said. 'When he threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled by his change. Most of the time he had them chasing it.'

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Philadelphia came out the victor in the 14th inning. Votto smashed a solo-shot out of the park making Philadelphia the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Philadelphia had a total of 13 hits for the game. Ryan Madson(5-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Heath Bell(2-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit without retiring a batter.
