Richard was helped out by Francisco Cordero who recorded his 11th save. C.C. Sabathia(19-8) absorbed the loss. He pitched 9 innings giving up 6 hits and 3 walks. PHILADELPHIA AT BOSTON Phranks......... 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 - 2 5 0 Stranglers...... 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 - 1 3 0 Win:Hanson(17-7) Loss:Cahill(13-13) Save:Wagner(39th) Homeruns- S.Rolen(27th) Tommy Hanson went 7 solid innings as the dominant Philadelphia Phranks bested the Boston Stranglers 2 to 1 at Fenway Park. Hanson(17-7) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the Boston batters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and no walks in 7 innings. Boston had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Hanson got relief help from Billy Wagner who gained credit for his 39th save. Trevor Cahill(13-13) was the losing pitcher. While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 12 batters in 9 innings.
